If you’re trying to decide between a mini crib and a bedside bassinet, here’s my honest take as a second-time mom.

The bedside bassinet is perfect for those first newborn days when you want baby right next to you for nighttime feeds, diaper changes, and all those little check-ins. It’s convenient, portable, and makes those middle-of-the-night wakeups a little easier since the side does fold down.

But the mini crib is more of a long-term investment. It gives baby more room, feels sturdier, and can often be used much longer than a bassinet. Plus the mattress is a lot comfier than the board the bassinet comes with.

For me, the bassinet is all about convenience… but the mini crib is where I see us getting the most longevity.

So if you’re deciding, think about whether you prioritize easy newborn access or longer-term use.

As a first time mom I had ALLLL the time in the world to prep the nursery and organize every little thing before baby boys arrival. As a second time mom raising a toddler while working full time has left me with very little time to tackle all the things. HOWEVER, I am walking in a whole new season of life with so much confidence because I’ve done this BEFORE! The things that would’ve stressed me as a first time mom don’t even cross my mind now. We are taking it one day at a time and truly focusing on the basic needs and prioritizing what is essential. At the end of the day my girl will be coming home to a whole lotta love, and a family that is so excited to meet her! 🥰🩷
