Born the son of Ethiopian immigrants, Israel Negasi was thrust into a life unlike any of his childhood peers. The in**ed mentality to accept circumstances without a modicum of belief that they would improve, was his norm. Striving for more than a roof over his head, a color television and a 9-5 to sustain a life of mediocrity, was beyond belief. Anything else, once appeared implausible.
Devout in his transformation into adulthood though, Negasiās passion for life, art and music, has led him on a mission to overcome the improbable and seize his own reality.
Appropriately, his quest continues to blossom with Supernatural Love, his debut single spawned by a personal journey that saw Israel flourish from meticulous producer to ideal artist.
The self revealing single delves into the depths of relationships old and new, while establishing an authenticity of self that follows throughout.

Negasi flips the script on the bouncy āTell Me (What You Want),ā drawing the listener in with a rowdy flow that offers a message meant to inspire confidence on the highest level. A confidence gained after dealing with hardships that brought him into a deeper understanding of manhood, responsibilty, and survival.
āI found a love that called me to be greater than I thought I could be. It broke me in all the right ways. I wanted to celebrate my evolution.ā
The straightforward āZeusā seeks to transcend the casual soul into a space of ultimate prominence.
As his aggressive side makes way for his sensuous alter ego, the melodic āWhat I Amā reminds women there are still good men out there, ready to love them for who and what they are.
Baring a sonic semblance to The Weeknd and/or PartyNextDoor (two of israelās musical influences), Negasi serves up an ability to appeal to a universal audience, and with good reason.
Internships at Atlanta based Digital Dope Boyz and Soul Asylum (DJ Drama, T.I., Pharrell, Don Cannon, B.o.B.) studios ā where he engineered tracks for local legends such as DJ Unk, Pill and others ā admittedly worked to refine his sound. However, the Maryland nativeās arrival has been in the making for over a decade.
Ironically, Negasiās initial interest in production and music was second to his love for video animation. His affinity for either craft has grown since middle school and actually prompted the move from a local college in Virginia Beach, to the ATL.
āI actually taught a class at the college,ā Negasi remembers, filling in for a staff member. āWhen I realized, āI donāt need this school to teach me anything,ā thatās when I knew I was wasting money and I needed to leave.ā
The move would prove productive, as Israel ultimately enrolled at Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) for Video Animation and continued his production efforts on the side. Before long, his passion for music production matured from a hobby to a full on hustle that padded his pockets as local artists got wind of his talent.
But something wasnāt right.
āI had my own vision or direction for my beats and the people I was selling them to werenāt following it,ā he discloses. āBut they were paying me for them, so I couldnāt say anything.
āThe more I put my soul into the beats, the more I felt like I was selling out my soul for stupidity. I got angry and felt like I shouldnāt be hoeing out my music to people who donāt deserve it.ā
Unsurprisingly, it was Israelās passion for his own beats that led to him to realize the artist within himself. The combination of an undying love for his music and his disdain for the messages that were ruining it, was enough for a very necessary breakthrough.
āI didnāt know I had it in me,ā he says. āThatās why I know it was meant to be and why I feel like I had to learn all the things I had to learn before I had to bring it out.ā
Ready or not, the future is now and Israel Negasi is here to stay.
