Ok, so remember this is my first time doing this and she definitely was acting like this was going down a few days ago, including some temperature readings that suggested it was on like Donkey Kong…in retrospect that may have been premature.

At any rate today is the date our vet predicted so we’ll see!

But now I think we’re gonna settle in and watch the greatest trilogy of all time while we wait…

THANK YOU!

I’ve been so dang blessed to have this page grow so big with animal lovers, it truly made launching K9 Responder Foundation as easy as could be and its own succeeding because of you all.

I made the ask yesterday for some Zesty Paws calming bites and probiotic chews to help Ace adjust to life in a home after 2 years in a kennel.

Not 24 hours later they started showing up. I can’t thank you enough! I’ve used a lot of different products for anxiety and Zesty Paws has become my go to for taking that edge off while we work with them. Y’all are helping this sweet pup find peace and I can’t thank you enough for it.

This’ll get folks fired up. But I’m good with it.

You will never hear my opinions on this topic as it relates to humans, not on this platform. However when we’re talking about dogs and animal welfare, a place I have planted my flag, a place I have literally bled for and risked my life for…hell yeah I’ll speak.

Rescue is about more than keeping the numbers down. I have been able to see the puppies moving in her belly since the day I took her in. So for me a spay abort at that stage is the same as wiping out a kennel line of perfectly good dogs at the shelter.

The pups aren’t behavioral, they aren’t in poor health. They have their whole lives ahead of them and they deserve that life just as much as any other pup out there.

If it was earlier on would I feel differently? I don’t know, but that’s not the decision I had to make.

Add in Della’s health issues the the risk of such a procedure it’s a no brainer.

Rescue isn’t just keeping the number down, if that was the case we’d euthanize every dog on intake and save a s**t ton of money on shelter budgets.

And at the end of the day I don’t care if everyone agrees. Other rescues are encouraged to follow their own hearts.

I’ll damn sure be following mine.

We added some items to our regular wish list that should have been on there already. I burn these up regularly on our own pups but Ace is a great candidate right now for some Zesty Paws calming chews and a probiotic.

Ace spent nearly two years in a kennel after being abandoned by his previous owner. Despite the psychological damage this caused, his resilience needs to be studied. He’s already making improvements and learning how to relax. I think with a little help for his nerves and his gut we’re going to see a whole new dog!
