I sure missed y’all! I’m back from maternity leave and literally feel like a new person. This isn’t any “new year, new me” BS — my life got flip-turned upside down (Fresh Prince, anyone?) when I became a mama on November 13. I’m so stoked to be back, but boy have my priorities and outlook done a 180!

Have you heard? Pinterest just intro’d a few new features! Here’s the scoop:

📌”Today” tab: This new section (found between the “For You” and “Following” tabs) is a “hub for daily inspiration, trending posts and curated topics,” according to Mobile Marketer.

📌The big delineation between “Today” and “For You” is mainly that, while “For You” features personalized recs, “Today” shows users what’s happening across the platform and what’s trending.

📌Increased emphasis on information from The WHO, CDC, and other expert sources on COVID-19 prevention over the next few weeks.

📌”Compassionate Search”: This is a type of smart search that helps find resources and activities for users who search terms like “stress relief.” Emotional well-being is big right now, y’all.

How’s everyone doing in light of this whole COVID-19 nightmare? I know a lot of us live in areas with confirmed cases. What precautions have you taken? Tell me everything.

I’ve never felt more fortunate to be able to work from home, and my husband is now working remotely as well for the foreseeable future. How do ppl deal with that kind of thing? 😂

"The Universe says yes." ✨This is my mom's mantra and lately, it's been mine, too.

Have you heard the Henry Ford quote, "Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right"?

This concept, whether you call it divinity, a higher power, the Law of Attraction, the Secret, manifesting, etc., rules our thoughts, beliefs, and realities as autonomous beings. It's how we realize and create our own truths.

The Universe is all-affirming. If you believe something is possible, it is. If you think you have what it takes to do or be something, you do. The Universe agrees with whatever you put out there, which never ceases to blow my entire mind.

If you have a personal brand, really make it personal. Don’t be afraid to inject your own individuality and identity into everything you do. Don’t be overly structured, and certainly don’t be stiff. 🙅🏼‍♀️

If yours isn’t a personal brand, there’s still something to be said for humanizing your content — no one likes a rigid corporate shell posing as a content creator. 😉

Even big brands rely on the personalities of their employees, influencers, and user-generated content to give their brand a genuine voice.

What’s everyone’s take on the new rules for ?

A couple of things I found interesting:

⚡️Disclose any personal or family relationships with brands (not just business relations)

⚡️There’s no need to say “This isn’t sponsored by _____” if there’s no brand relationship.

⚡️Brand endorsements in videos have to be explicitly mentioned in the video, not just the caption or description.

⚡️Brand endorsements on Facebook or Instagram Live, or other live streams, have to be repeated periodically so viewers who only see part of a stream get the disclosure.
