John Alexander and the Charlotte Jazz Orchestra wish to sincerely thank the donors and ticket buyers who helped to exceed the goal for the May 21st event. This will allow John to purchase the studio time to record many of his original jazz compositions. Again, thank you for braving a rainy evening and supporting John and the orchestra.

To my friends in music.
A benefit concert is being planned for John Alexander on May 21st At the AME Zion Church in downtown Gastonia. Donations to the benefit will be $20 for reserved seating section and $10 for all other seating. The purpose for the benefit is twofold. We certainly want to fill the seats in order to honor John's accomplishments and dedication to music. Particularly we wish to honor his body of work – His original jazz compositions which will be performed at the concert.

Secondly, the funds raised through corporate and personal sponsorships and ticket donations will go toward funding a recording of his original music with The Charlotte Jazz Orchestra. I feel that this would be a wonderful blessing to John, his family -friends – students and our community. This will be a legacy of music to be enjoyed by everyone for years to come.

I'm asking you, members of the music community, to help promote and attend this wonderful event. Spread the word and let's make certain we have a wonderful turnout to give a little back to John who has given so much of his time and effort to each of us.
