Really great Affordable Housing News Impact Summit today by

I first got involved in 2020 and have always kept up with the work, issues, and journalists involved with this group. I strongly believe properly trained, informed, and compassionate journalists can impact Charlotte in positive ways.

It’s important our journalist seek people’s stories from all walks of life so they can better communicate complex issues such as affordable housing, mental health care, education, domestic violence, and crime.

The CJC is such a great group working toward solutions.

If your Speaker Coach doesn’t look at you like this did they even love you?

I don’t work with people I don’t absolutely take it to the pavement for. Every time I witness my clients speak, I am delighted, excited, emotional, and proud.

The term Coach, to me, means I know your potential, I lean into your strengths and I help you gain confidence and skills in the areas you need to develop.

If that means 5 AM sessions while you travel for work, if that means hotel room cramming the night before so you’re prepared, if that means sitting on the floor with your speech cues, my clients are by-any-means-possible to out perform others and so am I.

Speech writing, delivery coaching, on stage confidence, TV presenting, and any other place you tell your story, I am with you.

✔️Speakers ready 🏁

The CX Energy 2025 Conference & Expo hits the Queen City this week and clients and keynote speakers and are ready for the stage 🎤

The champions will share their stories of Fortitude, winning, not winning, and my favorite part, being a butt kicking couple in business and life.

Bobby and Kristin are the perfect Keynote Speakers to coach and work with because they’re high level performers who devote time, practice, and energy to their work.

The more than 550+ attendees have a chance to hear first hand from a NASCAR Champion and a 3 time World Champion cyclist on how to keep going when the win looks impossible.

Let’s go!!

(Thank you Raphael #3468 for always delivering on our speaker prep needs!)

News reporter pose in full affect

The first pic is a newspaper ad when I got my first TV job ➡️ my TEDx pose and I had that news anchor hair going.

When I was in sixth grade, I would use my vocabulary words to write Not Necessarily The News (NNTN) scripts. My teacher loved them. I never set out to be a journalist. I kind of stumbled into it when my college advisor Dr. Randy Clark referred me for a job at the local triweekly newspaper the November before I graduated in December.

I actually struggled with written grammar because I moved to 15 different schools growing up and never really learned the fundamentals, but I was a hustler and sharp and got the job. Gerry Barnes was my copy editor and she was an angel!

I’d move to The Salisbury Post, a fantastic daily paper where I worked with absolute legends in journalism. And then to WBTV where I was a producer for the morning show.

News 14 Carolina in 2002 was my first on air and videojournalist job. I had a lot to learn and had great support to do so. Thank God there wasn’t social media as there is now. I made a lot of mistakes.

I once reported live on air that Mecklenburg County taxes were going up $.25 but got more outrage and phone calls when I used the term bumble bee rather than honey bee and pronounced realtor as real-uh-tore. 😂

I was made for telling stories, interviewing people, educating people, asking curious questions that sound dumb but garner the best answers, meeting people where they are, helping people preserve their dignity as they share vulnerable experiences, and to use video as the means of sharing it all. I’m so grateful I was allowed to explore video storytelling because so few women are encouraged in this space. It’s such a special creative outlet and one that’s given me a good life.

Intentional, custom, and curated costs more but it yields bigger returns.

If you’re launching a new service, ready for media exposure, or want to leverage your name in the media for other opportunities, reach out today to talk about a curated Media Pitching plan. Ask about our Entrepreneur Rates!

With this client featured, we were pitching something pretty average, but because of our approach we knocked it out of the park.

The client also hired us to shoot broll at the event which we provided on the second press release *after* the event. The second news release still netted us TV news exposure!

There’s more than one way to skin a cat and y’all may not believe this, but I know exactly what that saying means and I do know multiple ways to skin a cat(fish). When it comes to pitching TV media and online publications, we take every possible creative approach and always get results.

With inside the newsroom experience on the local, national, and international levels, we speak their language and have gained valuable exposure in household name networks and publications over the years.

Earned media has far more value than paid media so consider working with us if you want to go narrow to reach wide!

Be my neighbor! After 10 months of construction our studio is reopened and ready for gatherings along the Graham Street corridor.

Our new neighbor just held their grand opening last night too so 1514 N Graham is bursting with excitement to welcome the community.

Creative entrepreneurs, the entire floor I’m on is prime for your business so if you’re looking for a place let me know. My landlord Randy Martin is incredible to work with and has a heart to make Charlotte a better place. He supports entrepreneurs across Charlotte and I can’t wait to see what we make of this reenergized community hub.

We’re diaganolly across from Camp Northend so check it out if you’re looking for an office space or creative space.

This is also the home of my nonprofit so expect workshops and gatherings for women as we continue to use storytelling and community connections to destigmatize mental health needs and seeking care.
