Today, Sept. 26 marks the death of Edward Miner Gallaudet. Mr. Gallaudet, the son of whom the famous college for Deaf students was named, served as president of what was formerly named the Columbia Institution for the instruction of the Deaf and Dumb. Today, Gallaudet University has over 21,000 alumni making their mark on the world.
