Out today on !!

“Cacophony” is the 1st out of 3 projects that I've been a part of w/ power-take-Off - we really did a WHOLE LOT of work (in just a few days).

I'm proud to have worked on half of this record w/ , Trevere, , , Kyle & my friend Kathleen (right before she passed). I believe that we finished the project exactly as you guys intended & I know that you'd love it!!

This one's HEAVY!!! Turn it up for KJ!!!

I've FINALLY gotten my Echoplex EP3 up & running 🏃‍♂️💯!!!
I've had it for 20+ years, but it had a whole lotta things wrong & it never really sounded right. Parts are more & more difficult to get & if certain things go wrong..........it could be fubar. So yeah, I took this over to Rob Preston / RFI Audio a while back. He got it to a certain point, but was hitting some walls. The homie turned me onto the rebuild kit & Brian Landrum over at Heyday Asheville. Brian got it the rest of the way home!!!

This Shure Beta52 mic is probably a metaphor for my whole career 😁

This is like the 3rd one of these that I've had in the past 30yrs. Bought one new in the late 90s. I hated it, so it sat on the shelf & eventually I sold it on eBay. Got another new one probably about 7yrs later.........& again, the same damn thing.
Then I took another chance on a used one. I can't even remember from where, but I know I COULDN'T have paid much for it (maybe free99). Anyway, I dug in & forced myself to start seriously using it (probably about 2.5yrs ago) on a project.

And I'm telling y'all - I love this thing so much now!! It's my favorite kick drum mic!! And with compression & eq, it sounds EXACTLY how I want a kick to sound.

There ain't nothing different with the mic. Zero. It's all me.
My perspective is different.
Or probably mostly that I clearly didn't know wtf I was doing 🤣.

What's something that you routinely use now that absolutely did NOT work or make any sense at all before - then something happened & boom - It's all so clear now?!?!?!

Tony McCullough is hands down one of the baddest mfrs walking around this city & brought all the 🔥🔥 on this take. His improv at the end of this song, took it to a whole new place 🙏 thank you man.

We had a blast hosting an intimate listening party for Dherick Jacobs (Columbia, SC) & his vinyl release of “Frances” at the studio a couple of weeks back. Big thanks to everyone that dropped in!!!

I'll be doing a lot more social events in the studio going forward.....art & music is so much better when we get get to hang out, laugh & get to know each other better, ya know???

I’ve been waiting on this one for a minute!!!

A while back I had the pleasure of jumping in & assisting Black Violin along with Blind Boys of Alabama with the mixing (and some additional vocal tracking) on “We Are One”. The vocal & string arrangements on this one are pretty incredible……...and when the snaps drop………………it REALLY hits you!!!

Anyway - have a listen below, it’s a beautiful record and I’m so honored to have contributed to the discography of these legends!!

This one was a long time coming y’all, and The N.A.T.I.V.E.S. "Stankface Music // 4am Dope" is finally out!!!
The whole squad went HARD on this 10-track project (featuring production from Dorian Drumming (D.R.U.G.S. Beats), Jah Freedom & Lavonte Hines (FLLS) with features from Mason Parker, Boris Rogers & more…).

We wrapped up the latest EP from Dirty Art Club a few weeks back & “Future-Zine” dropped for streaming today!!!

To be honest, I’ve really been wanting to work on one of these projects since they 1st started doing them. I’ve always felt like I could bring something useful to the table. Well, it finally happened & we’re all super-pleased with the way it turned out!!!
