This past weekend felt like all my childhood dreams became a reality in one day. I have to say this is the greatest achievement of my life so far. First I wanna give a huge thank you to the Urban Action Showcase and its founder, Demetrius Angelo for such an amazing event!! I had been eyeing this festival for the past 2 years and took a chance back in early July without telling anyone for a whole month what I did. Wasn't expecting to get an email in early August at around 1am saying that I got selected for the festival 😱
Then the good news just kept on coming when I later received not 1, but 2 nominations!! I was thrilled, but also a nervous wreck when the day of the event finally arrived. Not only was it my 1st time being in NYC in almost 25 yrs, but also the first film festival I was selected, nominated, and won an award in my first attempt or submission!! Really meant the world having my family there to support and cheer when I went up to accept the award. There was a Power Rangers fan film that played on the same block as mine that also won the same award I got too. What a coincidence being that the franchise inspired me to pursue the entertainment industry. Same with Mortal Kombat and WMAC Masters who were both celebrating 30 yrs at this festival is what also got me to study and train in martial arts as a kid.
Now the question I've been getting asked these past few days is "What's next?" and the only thing I'll say for now is that I want to continue to make great content that'll entertain the masses and hopefully inspire others like how some my favorite franchises did to me as a kid. Last I just wanna thank all the cast and crew who were involved in helping bring my childhood creation to life and on the big screen in Times Square. Most importantly wanna thank my fam and supporters. Y'all were the reason why I made that decision a few months ago 🙏🫶👊⚾️🏆
