I’m James McLaughlin — a recording engineer, musician, and composer with over 25 years of experience in studios, on stages, and behind the scenes.
I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work with major labels, indie artists, and bestselling authors across genres like Americana, rock, jazz, and beyond. Whether I’m tracking a live band, mixing an album, or recording a celebrity-read audiobook, my focus is always on bringing out the heart of the performance.
To date, I’ve been credited on over 500 projects (and counting) on Muso.ai — something I’m deeply proud of, and a reflection of the trust so many artists and producers have placed in me.
My studio — nestled in the Virginia woods — is a space I’ve built with care, combining analog warmth and digital precision to support artists at every level.
