Long before weather forecasts were available on your cell phone, folks in Central Virginia dialed 804-345-1212 to hear the local weather from someone they trusted.

🎙️ That someone? Meteorologist Andrew Freiden from 12 On Your Side, who still records those updates daily, usually before the sun’s even up!

Just one more example of how local media has always been here for you—rain, shine, and everything in between.

On this Veterans Day, we salute all those who have served and the communities supporting them long after their time in uniform. 🇺🇸

One inspiring example, featured by WDBJ7 is the National Center for Healthy Veterans in Altavista, VA. After losing their arena to a fire last year, the center has
unveiled a newly rebuilt facility — a space dedicated to healing, recovery and second chances.

Less than a year after a fire destroyed the National Center for Healthy Veterans arena and barn, the non-profit just unveiled a new space.

We're proud to highlight our member station, US 106.1 Real Country for their continued commitment to uplifting local, family-owned businesses in Hampton Roads.

In a world where some stations avoid ads, they celebrate theirs because those advertisers are neighbors, entrepreneurs and community builders. When you tune in and hear about a product or service, you're not just hearing a commercial, you're hearing a local story worth supporting.
