Coming up this afternoon, we sit down with members of EZRA to go track by track through their new album out now on Adhyâropa Records. And this just in! At some point, we might even give away four tickets to a couple lucky listeners so they can catch Paul Simon Friday night at Wolf Trap.

Lots of great concerts last week as part of the WTJU Jazz Marathon, but a highlight was the Dhara Goradia and Quiet Fire session (YouTube link in comment section) featuring Dhara, Loren Oppenheimer, Andrew Green, Eric Knutson, and John D'earth. That combination of bass, tabla, banjo, horns, percussion, and guitar was spectacular and is just the sort of music you hear routinely during Folk & Beyond. Tune in this afternoon and hear for yourself a wonderful blend of instruments from around the globe.

Ethan Jodziewicz indirectly plays no small part in this week's Folk & Beyond, as his using the first image of him below from Red Wing Roots Music Festival got us to go down a rabbit hole of some of our favorite bass players.

We will also get in some new releases, including one from Billy Cardine which we somehow missed last month. But we will also hear from EZRA, and Ethan Setiawan & Maurizio Fiore Salas (whose new album comes out tomorrow!).

Lena Jonsson and Brittany Haas recently jetted in (well, zoomed anyway) from Sweden and Nashville respectively to go through their new release. We will air that track by track later this afternoon during Folk & Beyond. wtju.net/thesnake/ Ahead of that, we will play from some of their other projects.

Figured we'd also throw in some other twin fiddling along the way; including from darol anger's & Bruce Molsky's new album. For the balance, we will see where the music takes us.

There was a fella born on this day back in 1942 whom we will honor in our own way sometime this afternoon, but no pizza will be served. If you are a fan of Gypsy Jazz and woodwind instruments, this might also be the show for you.

Folk & Beyond airs from 4-7pm at 91.1FM and streaming at wtju.net.

They say it is best to let sleeping dogs lie, but that can't happen with today's Folk & Beyond. We will belatedly (by a day) celebrate Mike Marshall's birthday, Bruce Molsky's (today), as well as share a few tracks from the new Brittany Haas & Lena Jonsson album ahead of a track by track with them next week.

After being away the last couple weeks, there is plenty more on the playlist so hope you will join us from 4-7pm (eastern) this very day at 91.1FM WTJU and online at wtju.net/player.
