Give the Charlottesville Poem Store () a topic and ten minutes they’ll crank out a custom typewritten poem written just for you. That’s right, the Charlottesville Poem Store produces custom poems on demand — and on vintage typewriter and vintage paper suitable for framing! Just give them a person, place, thing, idea, or even a verb.

You can find these word wizards at the Market Central farmer’s market , retail pop-ups, weddings, and other events around town!

Need a unique gift? Give one of their poems in celebration of a birth, birthday, anniversary, wedding, and other special occasion. These word slingers will even whip up a poem on commission and deliver electronically or ship to your doorstep. Or even better, you can even line up a live, custom poetry party and provide guests with unique poems written on vintage typewriters and paper while they wait, giving them a special souvenir to remember a special shindig.

Second Street Gallery () is gearing up for its 50th year with an exciting season of exhibitions on tap featuring local and national artists who are challenging themselves to create cutting-edge contemporary work. These artists and exhibitions encourage dialogue with community members and express the importance of supporting the growth of the arts.

In honor of its 50th year, you can sponsor a specific exhibition in the upcoming season! “The success of these exhibitions relies on the support of sponsors or sponsoring organizations. All sponsorship donations go directly toward the behind-the-scenes work that goes into putting together an exhibition, from exhibition installation costs to print media to artist travel and community engagement opportunities,” says Second Street Gallery, which
serves as the oldest nonprofit contemporary art space in Central Virginia.

Follow to learn how to sponsor, support, and promote contemporary artists through the presentation of their work in a professional gallery and to encourage an appreciation of contemporary art by educating the public through exhibitions, lectures, workshops, classes, tours, and publications!
