The Chattanooga Police Department is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office for the Booze It and Lose It campaign to increase impaired-driving enforcement from December 12, 2025, to January 1, 2026.

The THSO’s statewide Booze It and Lose It campaign is part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization to reduce impaired-driving crashes nationwide during the holiday season.

As millions of Americans take to the roads to celebrate Thanksgiving with friends and family, AAA is once again offering its life-saving ‘Tow to Go’ program to help keep impaired drivers off the road.

Thanksgiving travelers will not be delayed by construction on Tennessee roads during this holiday.

TDOT will halt all lane closure activity on interstates and state highways in anticipation of higher traffic volumes across the state. All construction-related lane closures will be suspended beginning at noon on Wednesday, November 26, and will remain in effect through 6:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025.

As part of the I-75 interchange improvements project at Hamilton Place, TDOT contract crews will perform an overnight closure of the I-75 North exit ramp to Hamilton Place Boulevard on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM local time to facilitate necessary paving at the intersection of the exit ramp and Hamilton Place Boulevard.

The work is being expedited to improve traffic flow in advance of the busy holiday shopping season at Hamilton Place Mall. Drivers should use Exit 5 to Shallowford Road during this closure.

TDOT) contract crews will be performing nighttime closures of the I-75 South entrance ramp from Shallowford Road to facilitate the installation of steel bridge girders for new bridge construction.

The closures will take place nightly through Thursday, November 13, between the hours of 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM local time. The two turn lanes from Shallowford Road to the I-75 South entrance ramp will also be closed during this time.
