As we enter a bright new riding season, Freehub celebrates a return to the trails with our summer edition—an artistic salute to mountain biking’s outdoor-loving lifestyle. This hefty book revolves around the theme of community and is brimming with stories of resilience and generosity. We examine how these virtues can be manifested at the individual level, such as legendary downhill racer Shaums March reinventing himself as an influential coach or freerider James Doerfling channeling his ability to find imaginative lines into building trails alongside First Nations youth throughout interior British Columbia. Such selfless acts of service are also sweeping across North America on a communal level, with countless volunteers dedicating their time to bring hundreds of miles of new singletrack to cities like Chattanooga, Tennessee, and La Crosse, Wisconsin. This hope-filled book is a tribute to mountain biking’s unsung heroes. Welcome to Issue 12.2.⁠⁠

We've been gone for a minute. Busy in the background shooting, reshooting, and arguing about all kinds of nitty-gritty details. ⁠

With spring just about to get underway, we're back and gearing up for a marathon of film sessions. I'll be the first to admit we've been plum terrible at posting here. That's all about to change.⁠

Sometimes you gotta remind yourself why you're putting in the hours. Raccoon mountain ain't a half bad place to set the old noggin right and remember just how lucky we are to call Chattanooga home.
