O.k., we'll admit it --

We're TOTAL SUCKERS for this 1980 period romance --

("Gets us" every time!)

* And if YOU want to make a successful romance film, THIS just might be the one to study up on!

1980's Somewhere in Time shouldn't hold up as well as it does. Blame a beautiful score, lush scenery and killer chemistry.

Is Your Film Resume "CAMERA-READY" . . . ?

YES, "film production season" is once again upon us (and in VERY close proximity . . . )

-- and with that, it's time to give the 'ol resume a SERIOUS update.

Resumes for the motion-picture industry ARE DIFFERENT in both CONTENT AND FORMATTING ( -- at least from what most of us are used to . . . )

The CHATTANOOGA SE TN FILM COMMISSION has put together a guide on how to format YOUR RESUME for the best chances of success . . .

You can obtain a copy by contacting our 'HQ':

[email protected].

* PLEASE PLACE "FILM RESUME GUIDELINES" IN THE SUBJECT HEADER - thx!

And best of luck with your search -- or "break a leg" as they say in 'the biz!'

Our Story

'The Backlot' is a mixer for local filmmakers, talent, and crew. The goal of 'The Backlot' is to connect persons skilled or interested in various film crafts so that they might be able to collaborate on future projects. Typical activities at 'The Backlot' include casting calls, presentations by working film professionals, and screenings of recently completed works and works-in-progress as well as essential ‘film-study’ classics. 'The Backlot' is open to individuals as well as groups -- the only requirement is that one have a genuine interest and/or love for cinema and the filmmaking process. In regards to groups, Heritage House Arts & Civic Center has several breakout rooms available for activities such as auditions, screenplay brainstorming, and the like. Admission to 'The Backlot' is FREE, HOWEVER, a simple potluck item or non-alcoholic beverage to share is strongly encouraged. *(Doesn’t have to be anything ‘fancy’!) We hope to see YOU at the next 'Backlot' -- EVERY THIRD MONDAY of the month at HERITAGE HOUSE ARTS & CIVIC CENTER in East Brainerd (1428 Jenkins Road - 37421)!
