Breaking news! We are excited to announce that Marcus Patrick Ellsworth is our first official guest on the podcast! Stay updated on our socials for our conversation but in the meantime, here’s a little bit more about them: “Marcus Ellsworth is known to some in Chattanooga as a spoken word artist, writer, and sometimes activist for the LGBTQ community. As a writer and performer, Marcus has always centered their experiences as a q***r Black person and the shared experiences of their community through poetry and storytelling, especially in spaces where such voices are rarely heard. They have served as the president of Tennessee Valley Pride, are a former co-chair for Tennessee Equality Project for Hamilton County, and hosted an uncensored open mic variety show The Floor Is Yours at Barking Legs Theater up until 2020. Marcus continues to support the Chattanooga LGBTQ+ community and the local arts scene in ways that are generally more behind the scenes these days. Marcus is the Program Manager for River City Company, where they help organize several downtown events and support the work of other event producers in the city.”
