Idea Leap is back! Applications are now open for Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union’s ninth annual Idea Leap Grant competition until October 27th of this year.

Competitions will occur across three regions – Northwest Georgia, Ocoee, and the Chattanooga Area – with a business from each region receiving a grand prize of $30,000, along with smaller grants for second-place winners and runners-up.

Students and employees from Southern Adventist University’s automotive program will be providing free vehicle inspections for community members on Sunday, October 5, from 1-4 p.m. in the Samaritan Center parking lot in Ooltewah, Tennessee.

After checking fluids, belts, hoses, and other maintenance items on vehicles, mechanics will explain to owners anything that should be fixed.

The City of Chattanooga’s Office of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy (ACCE) in partnership with the Chattanooga Public Library, will present "Culture on 4: A Conversation with Megan Ledbetter, featuring Tom Lee" on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

The event will be held on the 4th Floor of the Downtown Library and will feature an intimate discussion on the forgotten cemeteries and buried histories of the South.
