If the recent news has you 😔 over avocado oil, here’s some good news! I found Marianne Harvest avocado oil, which received soaring purity scores, at Costco in Tucson, Arizona!

After the 2026 UC Davis study, research on avocado-oil-labeled foods, I was honestly furious at how much money I’ve spent on misleading labels.

As trusting consumers we have been paying more for what we believe the labels say 100% avocado oil, in salad dressings, U.S. mayos and chips. But according to a recent UC Davis Study no, dozens of our favorite brands failed. This one didn’t and it is readily available.

A milestone moment for Tucson.

This week, JosĆ© Contreras, chef and owner of Amelia’s Mexican Kitchen, will make history as the first chef from Tucson to cook in New York City.

In 2025, Amelia’s Mexican Kitchen was named a James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef: Southwest, recognizing talent and the depth of Tucson’s culinary community.

On Tuesday, August 11, Chef Contreras will take Tucson to New York City for a featured dinner at the James Beard Foundation’s Platform at Pier 57.

The evening celebrates the rich culinary traditions of Mexico’s Pacific coast, from the shores of Oaxaca to the Sea of Cortez in Sonora. Drawing on traditional masa as the foundation, the chefs will pair heirloom corn preparations with fresh seafood and wild greens, dishes deeply rooted in their personal histories and upbringings.

A proud moment for Chef Contreras, for Amelia’s, and for all of Tucson. Our city is taking its place at the table. šŸŒ½šŸ½ļø
