This Bible verse stuck out to me this morning while reading in the book of Philippians. It's key message is to "give thanks."

In everything give thanks: Whether we are praying, rejoicing, crying, hoping, or distressing -- Be thankful.

Something beautiful must happen in our spirit when we give thanks to the Lord.

That is why we are told, "with thanksgiving," make your requests known to God.

Could this be a key to answers prayers?

This has been a big year for me! Aaron and I celebrated 30 years of marriage with a Caribbean cruise in February 2025, and then I celebrated turning 50 years old with a 3-day surprise camping weekend in September 2025 hosted by family and friends!!

My family outdid themselves! Avery and Jesse hosted 4 campers in their backyard, and planned all the meals, and organized all the events. Then everyone at church surprised me with a birthday video and a cupcake party after service. I was in tears!

Also, my sunflowers bloomed on my birthday, September 1st, which was really neat! Because I love sunflowers 🌻

The other thing that happened on my birthday: Facebook lifted its ban on my website link! I haven't been able to share links to my online ministry for 5 years. So this was a great birthday gift!! Look! Here's my link: www.mysunandshade.com. Yay!!!!

Back to my surprise birthday party weekend, I'm still in awe over all the planning and preparation that went into such a great idea!!
