As many of you have been made aware, I have taken an abrupt leave from baking for medical reasons. I did not have possible brain tumor “on my bingo card” as they say. I know that impacted your celebrations, events and activities. I hope you know it was a heartbreaking decision. It was also a difficult one financially. To lose, at a minimum , 12 weeks of booked and paid for client work is devastating. 90% of you showed kindness and understanding while some of you quite frankly shocked me with your childish behavior, tantrums and verbal abuse. Your statements of: “but you’re still baking my order”; “you can’t possibly be talking about my order”, “how dare you cancel me”and my favorite, “well, you better still do my order or I’ll show up with the police to collect it”. Honestly. My 95 year old neighbor said it best: “it’s always the ones you least expect”.

Some of you asked me why I’ll miss so much time and why don’t I know today what’s going on. I’ll tell you what I understand. Due to the many health issues and recent surgeries I have had for my breast cancer and the amount of steroids/medications I am on currently for my seizures, lung issues due to radiation damage, and more, a few of the tests require that I have the steroids out of my system completely which is a taper process. That means I won’t know my full results or be able to complete some of my tests for 6 weeks post taper- that is around Thanksgiving. Depending on those results, I will have more detailed scans. Then a final/more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan will be made. I’m sorry I had to cancel so many orders.

I’m looking forward to bringing the baking magic back to all of you in 2026. Until then, I’ll be popping in every once in a while. ♥️
