Meet Media Manager Calvin Woodruff. Calvin’s mother was a photographer who instilled in him a love of storytelling through pictures and film. To this day, those pursuits bring him the most joy and keep him interested in always learning more.

Before joining Allied Pixel in 2021, Calvin gained multiple skill sets from various production roles in commercial, documentary, and feature films, along with TV shows on Netflix, Hulu, and CBS.

His role as Media Manager on the Personalized Video team taps all his skills and challenges him to acquire new ones. Allied Pixel’s continued growth and evolution bring him new and exciting personalized video projects to work on. “I enjoy seeing the creativity from our editors,” he says. “and it’s great to have ongoing opportunities to learn new ways to provide what clients want.”

On his days off, Cal enjoys the perks of living in LA, recently going to Disneyland for the first time and hiking at Griffith Park to visit the Observatory. He also has been planning for his 2026 wedding to his fiance, Ariel, at an antique apple orchard near Boston.

Creating and editing templates as a member of Allied Pixel's Personalized Video team requires a background just like JD’s: a combination of creative and technical skills. He picks up where the video editor leaves off in customizing for each client the data variables and visual presentation. Multiple technical skills come into play during production of Allied Pixel’s Data-Driven Personalized Video projects, and Lokesh Gopal has many of those skills. His title is Data Specialist, and he is most often called upon to prepare large client datasets for use in our Personalized Video render system. As needs arise, he also handles video and audio editing.

Growing up in India, Lokesh learned the basics of computer programming while earning his diploma in electronics. He started his career in electronics, then moved to transcribing audio and video files. When automation took over transcription, he upskilled to video editing by watching YouTube tutorials. Lokesh credits Allied Pixel Technology VP Pete Bretz with recognizing his versatility and guiding him to his current multi-faceted role.

When not working, Lokesh enjoys spending time with his family, often playing cricket and chess games. Jogging and cycling are his favorite exercises to keep fit.

“If things are constantly changing and I’m always doing something different, I’m happy,” says Allied Pixel Editor Brian Schaud. After majoring in IT, Brian’s computer expertise and creative talents came together in a college Media Production program. At Allied Pixel, he’s one of the editors who work their magic mixing all the digital elements that make a Data-Driven Personalized Video.

“I love putting things together and figuring out how it all works,” he says.

That carries over to his hobbies, which include woodworking and building elaborate Lego structures with his wife.

In another work-life bridge, he goes on shoots for Allied Pixel as the videographer and shoots videos and film stills for fun.

Brian’s need for speed draws him to both fast-paced work and fast cars, frequenting racetracks where he practices high performance driving on a road course.

Since joining Allied Pixel in 2023, Dave Lanzalone has been a valuable voice on the data team, helping to bring hundreds of thousands of personalized videos to life for our partners. A self-described “giant spreadsheet nerd,” Dave loves slicing up data and cooking up analysis in service to many of our campaigns.

In addition to spearheading one of our personalized video divisions, Dave leverages data analysis and coding certifications from Google, Microsoft, and IBM to drive company-wide improvements. He identifies optimization opportunities, forecasts resource-allocation schedules for high-impact periods, and boosts efficiency and cost savings by developing novel Python scripts and automation workflows.

When not focused on pivot tables, his attention is often turned to the dinner table. An avid home chef and gardener, Dave loves growing tomatoes and peppers in his home garden and making pasta carbonara from scratch.

While Dave has spent most of his professional life in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, he is currently excited about a recent move back to his home state of New Jersey. This relocation will bring him closer to family and coincides with an expanded role in project management, which he finds an “ideal fit” for his unique skill set.

From dashboards to cutting boards, Dave’s meticulous work ethic and attention to detail help Allied Pixel deliver our best-in-class services to all our clients.

It’s a good thing that Ling Song genuinely enjoys learning and adapting to new technologies and solving complex data challenges. Those qualities have made her invaluable to Allied Pixel during more than 22 years of rapid change.

Ling’s natural aptitude for logical thinking and problem-solving has helped her transition from building web applications and websites using ASP/ASP.NET/MS SQL code, to developing websites with Drupal & WordPress, and to creating Personalized Video landing pages and data analytics dashboards using Google and other technologies.

Outside of work, Ling enjoys cooking with whole, natural foods to prepare healthy meals.
