Chester City Help, Incident, and Resource Page

Chester City Help, Incident, and Resource Page Keeping Chester informed about what is going on in the neighborhood, one post at a time! They cover what the news doesn't.

Influenced by Birdeye View News and BEV2, the Chester CHIRP (formerly the Chester City Incident Blog) has been developed in order to keep the citizens of Chester informed of what is going on around them. From "what are those sirens about?" to "I found a dog, what do I do?" to "I need a job, can you help?", you can find all of the information right here in one place, just by clicking the Chester CH

IRP. Starting in March of 2017, founders Wydeen and Jayci decided that it was finally time to merge together and create the blog. With many citizens of the city depending on select individuals to keep them updated on the latest happenings in the city, the Chester CHIRP was created to keep everything in one compact place. They also noticed that citizens were coming to them more, instead of mainstream media, because of their commitment and connections with the city, and because of their ability to cover a story more effectively, more raw, and more unadulterated than the media due to those connections. While Wydeen has taken a bit of a step back, Jayci has taken on the full time responsibility of bringing you all of the information you are looking for. With the help of the citizens of Chester, they hope to bring you the most updated information on what is going on in the city. Please feel free to send a message (not post on the blog wall, as those posts sometimes get lost) with any questions, or if you notice any first responder/police activity. You can also call the CHIRPLine at ANY time - (267)636-0525. They will do their best to accommodate all questions and concerns in a timely manner. Expect pictures and first hand coverage from your founders, as well as picture credits from various other outlets. As of October 1st, 2020, the CCIB has been rebranded to be the Chester CHIRP! Or Chester City Help, Incident, and Resource Page, to reflect a much broader opportunity to get all the information you need in one place.

**DISCLAIMER - The Chester CHIRP work closely alongside, but are not an entity of or affiliated with, Chester City Government, the Chester Police Department, or the City of Chester Fire Department. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911.

Whew!! Just imagine... it's Saturday night and you're in a stolen vehicle... CPD tries to pull you over. You decide to lead them on a short vehicle pursuit before crashing out a couple blocks away. But you don't give up! You're so anxious to get away from the police that you decide to play frogger on 95 across 6 lanes of traffic... and you're like yesssss I got away... except, YOU DIDN'T! SURPRISE!!! You get caught on the other side behind some houses and they take you into custody. You were so close! You do NOT pass GO and you do NOT collect $200. Cue *whomp whomp* music.

Great job CPD!

Don't forget, daylight savings time ends at 2am! We gain an hour of sleep, but lose an hour of daylight. Also make sure you check/change the batteries in your smoke detectors!

Genuine question, and yes, I am asking for myself! Has anyone used their SNAP today? With funds from last month? I saw mixed reports that they wouldn't be able to be used at all as of today.

Just a heads up ladies and gents, it's 2:42pm on Thursday, even though the rain has stopped, the 7th Street underpass between Norris and Lamokin is still flooded out and impassable at this time. Please use 9th or 3rd as an alternate, depending on where you're trying to go. Your closest through streets north to south are Kerlin and Tilghman!

Whewww y'all, I have been waiting to be able to post this for quite some time now! Officer Speed is a former HSPO at BVSPCA. And PAC COVERS CHESTER!!! I highly recommend saving the link and the phone number where it is easily accessible in the case of animal cruelty and neglect. I'll be updating the pinned post to reflect this info, as well as removing some outdated information. Congratulations Officer Speed!

Call of the night... ###XX Street for the domestic - caller states his girlfriend hit him with a pillow and then disconnected.

Please use caution in the area of the 100 block of W. 21st Street due to heavy police presence while they investigate shots fired - I missed if there was a victim, I pray there wasn't, they do have people detained at this time. Sounds like they may be out there for a while. Just the heads up (remember 21st is a one-way, alley is blocked as well)
