A FIRST FOR N. WAYNE AVE: A teardown and rebuild that would pull the plug on a popular live music venue - at least for a while.

***EDITOR'S UPDATE: Radnor Planning Commission unanimously granted preliminary approval to the plan Monday night, a first step in a multi-step review and approval process. Residents who don't want to see new 3-story buildings lining North Wayne Ave. were advised to participate in the Vision for Wayne, the current master plan update which welcomes resident feedback on zoning in the business district. ***

The new owner of 118-120 North Wayne Ave. wants to demolish the buildings and put up a new 3-story, mixed-use building. Neighbors are wary.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 … 𝐲𝐞𝐭.

Last night, I watched a beloved Bryn Mawr mailman take a bow — honored as Caregiver of the Year for the extraordinary love he shows his daughter, Phoenix.

Today I learned that a local foundation read my story about John & Phoenix McFetridge and sent a $10,000 check to the Fighting Back Scholarship Program. (“We were really touched and inspired by the article,” the foundation’s treasurer wrote in the letter enclosed with the check.)

This gift will help people like Phoenix - people with life-altering injuries - access one-on-one training at the Fighting Back gym in Malvern. It will get 3-4 people in need off the waitlist and into the gym.

A story turned into action. Into opportunity.

And for me? A reminder.

Just when I think maybe it’s time to hang up my pen … something like this shows up.

A little Godwink that says: Keep going.
