Twelve pages and 1 grab a dictionary. 20 pages in and I've decided it's too much work for a vacation book. Still excited to read it and have found the beginning fascinating. So many millions of people died from starvation throughout Europe, Asia and Africa due to the war. (PS: moved to The Inventors Secret trilogy. Much better vacation choice 🤗)

Past few weeks and the last of harvest and preserve season for me. I'm happy to take a break for the next few months. Learned so much over the year growing new-to-me plants. I call my first year with a new plant, my experimental year. This year's experiments included, corn, onions, potatoes, sweet potatoes, orka (and fails: broccoli, cabbage, spinach, squash, beets, sunflowers, and chamomile).

Spent an extended weekend in West Virginia picking apples and processing them. The trees were lovely, the weather was wonderful with a slow rain and windy. The house was being worked on while we did all things apples. Lexy enjoyed her time outside just watching the world. From left to right in the last photos are applied pie jelly, blueberry compote, jewelweed, dehydrated apple slices, apple pie filling, and apple butter. There are still about 40 lbs still to process.

How I spent my day. I binged watched Marie Kondo shows on Netflix and vacuumed all day. Worked on 4 rooms. Sucked under the rug, both sides of the rug, the sun room, under furniture, behind furniture, and in the trash and recycling area. The rare binge clean. Something I finished after my garden went into hibernation. Using up the last of some yarn balls. It has a pocket for my phone, one for scissors or pruners, some for eggs and a pouch for herbs/veggies or whatever. Can't wait to put it back into use this garden season. Ooh! It can hold seed packets while I plant directly outdoors!!

When a church member is downsizing and asks if I know anyone interested in needing candles or turning bits of candles into new candles. I sure do!! My husband, actually. Then she asks if I'd know anyone interested in jars. My hand shoots up again!! Me Me Me!! I'm canning now and love it. Found some yarn a few months ago at that's 100% cotton and will be great for wicks. The little candles have the metal clamps on the bottoms so I'm pulling them and re-wicking them (is that a word?).
