Stark went all black with the new VARG SM SKÖLL. 🖤 Only 500 are being built worldwide, and Stark says there won’t be a second run.

The blackout treatment goes right down to the components, with individually numbered triple clamps, 3D-printed titanium footpegs and a titanium bolt kit. Those titanium parts shave off 2.4 pounds, bringing claimed weight to 272 pounds.

It comes with the full 80 hp Alpha package and adjustable traction control. That’s a lot of motor in a street-legal supermoto with no clutch or gears to work through.

U.S. price is $14,990, with first deliveries scheduled for October. Nearly $15K is serious money, but that black finish suits this thing.

Johnny Hopper isn't exactly sold on the SMX Round 2 track.

He gave the layout just a 6.7/10 overall and only a 6/10 for passing, saying it looks fairly one-lined and could turn into what he called “Takeout City.”

The start could be massive. Hopper pointed out the hard pinch into Turn 1 and believes the inside gates will be at a major advantage. If you don't get the start, there aren't many obvious places afterward to make a clean pass.

Instead, he sees several areas where riders may have to go in hot and make something happen with a block pass.

The big wildcard is the sand. Hopper thinks that's the one part of the track that could develop enough to create different lines and potentially open things up as the motos progress.

With 50 points on the line and several riders needing to make up ground, a track that's difficult to pass on could make things pretty spicy. 👀

The 2027 KX250 might not win the “most horsepower” argument, but both tests made it sound like one of the easier 250Fs to actually ride well. 🟢🔥

Kris Keefer flat-out said it isn’t the fastest 250F and it isn’t the slowest. What he kept coming back to instead was how friendly the engine is, how easily the bike corners and how usable the power feels once you’re driving out of the turn.

Whiskey Throttle’s Parker Dixon described almost the same personality after they got his suspension dialed. He said the bike became extremely predictable: he knew where the front was going, knew what the rear was going to do, and could just settle into a groove instead of fighting the motorcycle.

By the end of a 105-degree day at Perris, Dixon said some of his best laps came during a longer moto because the bike was letting him ride rather than constantly demanding attention.

That might end up being the KX250’s biggest selling point.

Maybe it doesn’t have the biggest hit or the craziest dyno number, but if a bike gives you confidence and lets you ride closer to your limit for longer, that matters a whole lot more than a horsepower chart. 👀

The Chinese GP is getting a major scheduling change for 2027, and it could help solve one of MXGP’s biggest flyaway problems.

Shanghai moves from the late-season grind to Round 7 in May next year.

That matters after just 14 MXGP riders lined up in China this past weekend, with injuries and the expense of late-season overseas travel contributing to an extremely thin gate.

Lewis Phillips and Adam Wheeler believe putting China much earlier in the championship should make it far harder for teams and riders to skip the trip, especially with championship positions still very much on the line.

There’s also a bigger strategy at work here. MXGP is investing heavily in China just as Chinese motorcycle manufacturers begin pushing into the World Championship.

Better timing. More riders. Growing manufacturer interest.

Shanghai could look very different in 2027.

Chinese manufacturers are making a serious push into MXGP for 2027. 👀

Two Chinese brands are preparing full factory programs for next season, while a third has already made its Grand Prix debut.

And this apparently isn't just about filling spots on the gate.

Lewis Phillips says he's aware of Chinese manufacturers making competitive six-figure offers to riders as they build their programs for 2027.

It's another sign of just how quickly the Chinese motorcycle industry is expanding into top-level racing. Kove and ZXMoto are expected to join the MXGP paddock next year, while JHL made its debut with Brian Hsu in Shanghai.

With MXGP also continuing to invest in the Chinese GP, this could become a pretty significant new chapter for the World Championship.

Austin Forkner may be done racing professionally, but he’s already found something that gives him that feeling again. 👀

Forkner has moved back to Oklahoma and started coaching riders, and he told MotoXpod he’s trying to bring the same approach that Ryan Hughes and Robbie Reynard once brought to him.

Not just telling a rider to get their elbows up or stand differently, but explaining **why** they’re making the change, what they should feel on the bike and how it should translate on the track.

And he’s already getting hooked on the results.

Forkner described watching a rider suddenly put something together after only a few days of training and called it almost a “secondhand high.”

“I get just as excited almost as they get whenever I can see them making progress.”

That seems to be the biggest change for Forkner since retirement. He’s still at the track, still working hard and still chasing improvement. He’s just getting that satisfaction through someone else now.

After everything injuries took from his racing career, Forkner says he feels like a weight has finally been lifted off his shoulders.

And if he can eventually become for another young rider what Hughes and Reynard were for him, that sounds like a pretty damn good second chapter. 🤘

Austin Forkner knew almost immediately after his crash at Thunder Valley that he might be done racing. 🏁

He told MotoXpod that on the way home from Colorado, he was already thinking, “Yeah, I’m probably done.” He’d had those thoughts after injuries before, so he gave himself a few days to make sure it wasn’t just emotion talking.

This time, the feeling didn’t go away.

Forkner said Triumph initially expected him to return, but after another concussion, lingering hand issues and the arm problems he’d already been dealing with, he realized he didn’t even want to finish out his contract just for the sake of finishing it.

“I was kind of just over it.”

He offered to stay with Triumph for the rest of the year to test, help develop the bike or contribute however they needed, but the team ultimately told him they didn’t need him in that role.

And that was it. At just 26 years old, one of the fastest 250 riders of his generation walked away from professional racing.

Forkner admitted there’s still some bitterness over how his career played out, but there’s also relief. After years of injuries, he no longer has to wake up wondering if today is another day that ends in an ambulance.

🚨 Haiden Deegan’s World Supercross deal apparently still isn’t signed… and there may be a much bigger reason why.

On the PulpMX Show, Steve Matthes and Lewis Phillips discussed some serious uncertainty surrounding WSX as the series reportedly goes through another ownership change.

According to Matthes, Deegan is expected to race the UK and Gold Coast rounds, but the deal is still essentially a handshake agreement rather than a signed contract because of the uncertainty surrounding the series.

The bigger concern? 💰

Matthes and Phillips said teams are still waiting on significant payments, with some reportedly saying they won’t race Birmingham unless they’re paid. They said Wednesday is currently the expected payment date.

WSX is also reportedly in the process of being sold again, which would mark its third ownership change in four years.

So Deegan racing World Supercross may still happen, but according to PulpMX, it’s nowhere near as locked in as it might have appeared. 👀🌎
