Heres a theory...
China moved production in factories of clothes and shoes, to new goals early last year. To produce cheap and inexpensive facial coverings as a cheaper alternative for hospitals in non critical locations (for example, the lady at the check in counter at the hospital needs a mask, but not the same mask the surgical staff does).
But anyway.
China begins to make these masks.
They begin offering them to hospitals, but they refuse them as they're not surgical grade.
China turns to the trade shows and big box retail shops. Again, no dice.
They even offered them cheap for a better marked up profit for sellers, but still no.
Then, a couple of scientists were messing around with that SARS virus and mixing it around with other stuff, and sometime in June of 2019, presented their new "bug" to their government.
Long story short, China infected super healthy celebrity and political types with the new bug and sent them out into the world.
Conferences and conventions in France, Italy, America, etc and successfully spread the bug to unsuspecting people who were also healthy, but would be able to unknowingly spread it as well.
I know, China had it too, but why not? If they were the only country not showing cases, it would look pretty suspicious, right?
China then told their bug infected citizens that it only lasted for a week and that it would be safe to go home with a simple flu shot. So they went home and it spread there too.
In war, this is called collateral damage.
War???
Oh yes, without an effective and powerful military that could beat the US or Russia or anyone in Europe for that matter, China would need to use stealth and mystery.
In order to win against an opponent stronger than you, you must first weaken them, divide them, broadcast their civil unrest and turmoil and turn them against themselves.
An intelligent government would see right through such a dastardly plan, right?
The leaders of an intelligent government would restrict travel and ban events and endanger its economic health to protect and preserve its people, right?
But not a vain and materialistic society where millionaire criminal masterminds are allowed by the people to govern and control them, right? Not America, right?
Why not America?
See, China is a like a Chihuahua and America is, oh I don't know, a big scary Pitbull.
Now you know that if provoked, the Pitbull can and will defend itself, but the Chihuahua can't. The Chihuahua doesn't know its a little dog. If it gets in there and gets hurt, or just makes alot of noise, cause it sees itself as a bigger entity than the Pitbull, it thinks it can win, but it can't and realizes that too late. So it needs a different strategy.
But I'm off topic.
China knows American egos are on one side and American fear is on the other. We're also a pretty racist Country as a whole, so provoking unrest as a distraction is pretty easy, but thats a whole other story.
People start getting sick. Flu-like but not, and there is this whole breathing issue, and people start dying.
The CDC decides that people can be protected if they're not breathing in the illness and could possibly stop the spread if they make recommendations for wearing surgical grade masks.
Some Americans jump on board. Schools close. Business close. Then only places always open, retail shops.
Front line essentially once considered by the masses unworthy members of society are now the saviors of the world (I exaggerate).
But back to the story.
Americans as a whole are cheap but also fashion-conscious. Therefore, they turn to the cheap markets, the trade shows, the big box stores, and they don't have any cheap fashionable masks.
All anyone has are bulky and ugly masks for safety. No one likes those, but if we wear one, we can get our overpriced restaurants back and our bars and other show off places we use to feed our morally corrupt egos. They can all reopen.
In steps China.
Once again offering those same masks from earlier, at higher price now than before, but still reasonably cheap enough to promote bulk ordering.
Wow, all available in fashionable colors and different sizes and widths and thickness.
It's a retailers nightmare but it seems to be what the majority of then people want so businesses begin to cave under pressure.
And somehow, it works. People get better, but still the losses felt by 100s of thousands is great.
The States begin to see the Fed not aiding as they hoped they would to save State government from being the bad guy, but hey, it is an election year. The Governor's must step up, and most of them do, and things get better in the more passive States. But those, "You can't tell me what to do" places in America, the death toll rises.
The passive States begin to reopen. The aggressive States come pouring in to the neighboring passive almost restriction free zones and the disease spreads and grows again.
In an attempt to save a struggling industry, retail establishments begin to require masks inside their properties, and thats where we are today.
People are still getting sick, dying, bruised egos, and ready to start another Civil War.
I'll leave it here, but remind you that this story isn't true as a whole, but in parts, it almost like an unfolding Tom Clancy Novel.. Save us Jack Ryan, save us. -me
