We just wrapped up our first week of after-school program, and what a week it’s been! Kids hopping off the bus, sharing meals, diving into books, and laughing their way through activities — it’s the rhythm we’ve missed and the one we look forward to all year.

We’ve welcomed so many new faces and welcomed back plenty of familiar ones, and if this week is any sign, it’s going to be a year filled with laughter, learning, and countless little moments that matter most.

We’re proud to share that our COO, Melissa Johnson, has once again been nominated for the Wyoming Women of Influence award in the nonprofit category.

Melissa shared:
"This work is never about nominations, it’s about showing up with heart, every single day. The kids who walk through our doors at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Wyoming leave an imprint on my life in ways words can’t capture. If I can make even a small difference in theirs, then I know I’m right where I’m meant to be.
However, I am beyond humbled to be nominated for Wyoming Women of Influence. It’s an honor, but the greatest reward will always be watching our kids grow in confidence, discover their potential, and know they are supported every step of the way."

Melissa pours her heart into this work, and we’re grateful to our community for recognizing it year after year.

Strengthening Our Community, Together

This year’s Back-to-School Bash brought over 1,100 children and families together for a day filled with connection, care, and support. Kids left with backpacks, coats, and supplies — parents left knowing their community stands beside them.

Events like this are more than a moment. They’re a reflection of what happens when our community comes together — partners, volunteers, donors, and neighbors — all working toward the same goal: making sure every child has what they need to succeed.

From the Bash to year-round programs, our reach extends beyond the Club walls, touching lives all across Southeast Wyoming.

Cheyenne Frontier Days 2025 was one for the books! Last week, our kids proudly walked in the parade with Chase Bank and cheered in the stands at the rodeo, thanks to generous ticket donations from our community members. We’re so grateful for opportunities like these that create lasting memories for our youth. Here’s to another great CFD week in the books!
