Paul Elwood is a late composer, banjoist and longtime professor of composition at the University of Northern Colorado will be honored at a memorial celebration concert on Tuesday at UNC. One of the musicians honoring him is New York-based Aimée Niemann, who's originally from Greeley, Colorado.

Niemann travelled all over Wyoming, including Cheyenne, gathering sounds they would use as a backtrack for their performance on Tuesday. They used a graphic score that Elwood wrote for them as her guide to create a sound map of Wyoming. https://buff.ly/dkeabfU

Lawmakers met again this week to continue discussing how to adjust state spending on education as part of the typical five-year reassessment of the funding model, but no clear direction has emerged so far.

Conversations this year have been made more tense after a district court judge ruled earlier this year that Wyoming’s education system is unconstitutionally underfunded. https://buff.ly/YoMnpjh

TO DO: Grab your wands and get ready to immerse yourself in a new magical realm called the Fantasy Festival, coming to the Front Range on Sept. 20.

For Cheyenne-based Zarah O’Holleran, it all started in March with a dream and a lifelong love of fairy tales and fantasy.

Her company, Larkspur Events, will be putting on the event. The business started by hosting budget-friendly weddings and has now added the upcoming Fantasy Festival to its portfolio. For the Fantasy Festival, O’Holleran is partnering with her friend Katrina Johnson, who lives in Loveland, Colorado, and owns another event company, Blast from the Past. https://buff.ly/zqe6Idv
