Writer/director Gregory Pellerito joined the SpitTake Podcast and shared the incredibly personal moment that changed the direction of his life.

After a devastating college baseball injury essentially ended his playing career, Gregory went home, turned on the TV…and Big Fish was playing.

What happened next became one of those rare moments where everything suddenly made sense.

“I just felt like God was telling me everything was going to be fine, and this was what I was meant to be doing: making movies.”

Years later, Gregory is doing exactly that — writing and directing Moments of Youth.

Sometimes coincidence rhymes really, really well.

We had the distinct pleasure of having Steven Martini on the show this week. Steven's first major role was playing Alex Stone in Major Payne (1995). Since then, he has become an screen writer, director and indie filmmaker with numerous releases to his name. His most recent accomplishment was his movie Bittersweet, which came out in 2025. He is also working on a legacy sequel to Major Payne. He was truly one of the most fun guests we've had the show and has such wonderful insights into the world of filmmaking.
