Former presidents Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Joe Biden are among the big names who will be in Chicago Friday for Rev. Jesse Jackson's funeral.

Along with the former presidents, a spokesperson for the Jackson family said former First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will also be in attendance at the House of Hope on the city's Far South Side.

The homegoing service is being led by Dr. Charles Jenkins and Rev. James T. Meeks, the family said, and other notable speakers will include Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, U.S. Rep Maxine Waters, Chicago Cubs owner Tim Ricketts, Rabbi Sharon Brous and businessman Jim Reynolds.

The family also said the service will feature performances from Jennifer Hudson, and gospel singers Bebe Winans and Pastor Marvin Winans.

The People's Celebration, as Friday's service has been titled, will be held at House of Hope at 752 E. 114th St. in Chicago. Doors open to the public at 9 a.m. and services begin at 11 a.m. (CBS Chicago) ✊🏿🕊️
The Special Jesse Jackson Commemorative Edition of South Side Drive Magazine will be available as a collector’s item, until copies last, beginning Friday, March 7th. South Side Drive Magazine Group

We are grateful for the stories we've offered in our own voices, from our perspective. We can only be grateful, as the on;y Black owned Chicago magazine focused locally to serve. Some of our staff were here to see Operation Breadbasket created, others still in their 30s, are going back to past issues, and we have lots. We covered Reverend Jackson's work and shared our unique, close-up and personal, lived experiences and unparalleled Chicago historical references with great reverence.,
Enjoy!

Thank you for your appreciation of our February print edition of South Side Drive magazine, which has returned to print after being available only online on our website for a few months. For those who have not seen our issue yet, you'll find new editorial staff submissions by Floyd Webb and Chip Eberhart. Also, our managing editor, Emma Young, takes a special look at Chicago's Black History. You'll read about The Field Foundation of Illinois' investment in and celebrate the history of the Legacy Award Gala and the work of entrepreneur Keeana Barber (of WDB Marketing) to help young businesspeople. We also happily share the living legacy of the quilting guild, Needles & Threads. We encourage you to attend their Feb 16th exhibit featuring master quilter, Sunshine Joe Mallard, where you can also pick up your copy of the February issue to share.
We end the issue with a short feature on the incredible promoter of all things cultural, philanthropist, and cultural icon, Zakiya Williams.
