Gladstone Park Chamber of Commerce recently awarded its high school and college scholarships during a ceremony at the 5800 North Cafe, 5800 N. Milwaukee Ave.
The $1,000 Albert Kenar College Scholarship Award winners are Resurrection College Prep High School graduate Molly Brannigan, who will attend the University of Oklahoma, and Von Steuben High School graduate Elena Styrczula, who will Lake Forest College.
The $500 Lou Drehobl High School Scholarship Award recipients are
Saint Robert Bellarmine School graduate Brian Mulcrone, who will attend Notre Dame College Prep High School, and Farnsworth School graduate Emma Williams, who will attend Taft High School.

Ciolino announced at the ceremony that the high school scholarship is being renamed in honor of committee member Oehler, who also was a schoolteacher for 40 years.

Liberty Bank for Savings is sponsoring a “Summer
Classic Movie Series” at
the Pickwick Theatre, 5 S.
Prospect Ave., Park Ridge.
The four-film series will
be shown at 10 a.m. on
the second Wednesday on
the month.
The scheduled movies are
“Roman Holiday” on June 10,
“Yankee Doodle Dandy” on
July 8, “Casablanca” on July
8 and “Rear Window” on Aug.
12, a news release said.
Optional donations will
be collected at the door
to benefit the Park Ridge
Community Fund.

The “Back Porch Music Series” returns this summer to Jefferson Memorial Park, 4822 N. Long Ave.
The free concerts will be held at 2 p.m. on selected Saturdays on the porch of the historic Esdohr House in the park.
Mean Street, a Van Halen tribute band performs on June 6, the Ian McKinley Band on July 18 and 45 Souls on Aug. 15.
In the event of inclement weather, the concert would be postponed a day to Sunday at 2 p.m.
The series is sponsored by the Jefferson Memorial Park Advisory Council, Chicago Park District, Jefferson Park Chamber, Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association and Jefferson Park Forward.
