Erik Rumsa () is our newest member to the RCM Team as a Mixing, Recording, and Mastering Engineer. After graduating from DePaul University’s Recording Program, Erik became an intern at RCM and studied with the stuff for 4 months. Erik has recorded everything from Mozart operas to metal bands to Chicago’s Save Money Collective. He writes string arrangements (one of which debuted at #2 on Amazon’s Smooth Jazz chart), and performs violin both in the studio and on stage! Erik also plays the piano, has a hand in music production and programming, is skilled with a soldering iron, and is the self-proclaimed champ at Super Smash Bros. Think you can take him?

GEAR OF THE WEEK: This week we’re featuring our Patch by in our Studio A! This device allows us to patch seemlessly from our computer to gear with way less patch cabling from the standard TT/TRS Bay. Here at RCM, we have combined analog patching with this device to create a very creative hybrid patch. This patch allows us to instantly switch from a full band tracking session with mics to a production session making all our synths and keys touchable. Flocks computer interface is very user friendly, allowing you to click and drag patches easily and open recalls of previous patches at the click of a button.
