Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk, was a close friend and confidante to King Henry VIII. Rising through the ranks of the royal court, Brandon's loyalty and military prowess earned him the king's favor. He married Mary Tudor, the king's younger sister, and became a powerful figure in English politics. Despite his influence, Brandon's life was marked by tragedy, as his wife and children died young. He ultimately met a tragic end himself, executed on suspicion of treason.
