SUNDAY, 11/20, 2:00PM: Keymore's second preview event, hosted by ESS's The Quarantine Concerts, features Rhapsody Snyder, Executive Director of the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, a member of the Keymore Advisory Board, and a pianist by training. In discussion, Rhapsody and Shi-An Costello cover topics such as the big and fancy reception of the piano, the value of learning to play piano in 2022, how the piano can affect your personality (for better or worse), the social dynamics of collaborative piano playing, and professional advice for artists from working in sales.

Our first festival preview takes place today, Nov 6th, online (Free) at Experimental Sound Studio!

A conversation between Francis Yun and Shi-An Costello, the two keyboardists and composers talk about how to navigate the history of keyboard music, about whether aesthetics are progressive or cyclical, the excitement of discovering solutions in composition, being a young composer and the Great Man Theory in the history of innovation, playing techniques of harpsichord vs. modern piano, and essential differences between Baroque and Romantic music, among other things.
