From the prayers I passively prayed in the Spirit the night before, to the God nudges on the mountain, to the providence of not one but TWO chance encounters, I can say that God hears our prayers!

This is Nico, a 19 year old Christian whom I (Adira) unexpectedly met while hiking in Scotland last week. The encounter was so obviously ordained by the Lord… hear all the evidence on the new episode (which was spontaneously recorded on the pictured hilltop). Some context:

I’m spending the summer working remotely from Scotland (thanks TrustedHousesitters 🫡). I met Nico while on a day trip from the town where I’m staying to a fishing village called St. Abbs. St Abbs is actually named after a 7th century Germanic princess named Æbbe, who founded a double monastery where nuns and monks lived side by side. Cool but not the point.

I went to St. Abbs to visit a famous cafe and go on a hike. I was more excited about the cafe than the hike ( ) but I underestimated the beauty of the landscape and the creativity of God. Long, God-led story short, I found out about Nico’s faith after asking him to take a photo of me on the hiking trail. The story behind my request is pretty funny, as you’ll hear. But what’s coolest is how God ministered to both of us, in our separate and very different situations, through that chance meeting.

We stood on that hill chatting and eventually Nico mentioned his struggle with the party culture of young travelers and how the Lord has convicted and kept him despite his sin. I immediately thought that this whole thing would make a great podcast episode. Nico agreed, and what followed is now available for you on all platforms!
