Happy birthday Jim Henson!

As an 80s baby, something this man touched graced the TVs in our home HELLA often. I went UP for Fraggle Rock, and had a particular love for Muppet Babies and can still sing both theme songs (bingo fact about me- I remember theme songs and commercial jingles better than actual songs I love).

The has a fantastic exhibit with muppets, costumes, props, models sketches and reminders of so many of the things that brought us raised on Sesame Street joy. From shows to movies, cameos and features Jim Henson and the world of characters he’s created have remained a constant for many of us. Elmo is lowkey one of my favorite Twitter follows, yall 😅. And to think, this gem of nostalgia, The Museum of Moving image is right in my home borough of Queens! There are so many things in our own backyards that should get more love from us; the ways we explore new cities around the world can be replicated right in our own comfort zones!

Not gona hold y’all, but having a partner has been the best travel hack 😅. I really do turn my brain to the “simmer” setting and float around just being pretty because I know he’s got it covered lol.

Before I had my partner on security detail, keeping me safe and alive was all on me! Girl, I know! I too, am impressed 😂. This week’s replay episode is about staying safe while traveling. Tune in for some of the lessons I learned along the way that kept me safe while visiting 23 countries solo.

Finally! Went to my first pride parade! 🏳️‍🌈

The more time I spend in crowds, the more I give myself grace for hating it lol. I used to force myself to stay longer for fear of “missing out”. Now I’m out as soon as my social battery begins to tank for fear of being pi**ed I stayed beyond my own personal comfort level. Choosing to see the growth in choosing myself and MY feelings in the now, and not the future feelings that may or may not come. So grateful for a partner who listens to me when I use my voice and who loves and supports all of me. 🩷 Mercury, I see you girl. That voice is getting stronger. 💖

First road-trip of the year! I take being a cousin SO serious y’all 😅. Made it to VA to see my day one A1 and love on her and her family. Couldn’t ask for better family 💗 My auntie and her baby even pulled up so I was doubly blessed to see even more faces I love 🥹😍.
