A Shepard tone is an auditory illusion in which a tone appears to be rising or falling in pitch indefinitely. We’ve created one solely using After Effects, along with a simple animation. Each square represents the tone’s 12 oscillators, with the frequency corresponding to scale and amplitude corresponding to opacity.
