Had the best time yesterday kicking off Della Days at Old Irving Brewing.

Such a cool blend of neighborhood history, great beer, and community all in one place.

Della Days celebrates Della Kölsch, OIB’s longest‑running beer, named after Emily Adella “Della” Race — daughter of Charles T. Race, who helped develop Old Irving Park back in the 1870s. Born April 9, 1857, her name lives on in the beer, in the neighborhood, and now in this new annual tradition.

Even the train on the label has a story — a nod to Six Corners, once known as the “Second City” for the rail lines that connected this area to Chicago. It’s such a thoughtful way to toast the past while bringing the community together for a weekend of good vibes.

If you’re looking for something fun to do, Della Days runs all weekend. Great beer, great people, and a great excuse to celebrate the neighborhood.
