In Memory of Adrián Caldera
Adrián Caldera, Artist of the Desert, left a profound mark on our hearts and in the world of art. But Adrián's true happiness was found amidst the solitude of the desert. He wandered through the desolate dunes, unearthing the secrets of petroglyphs, and laid beneath the awe-inspiring Milky Way. The desert was not just his canvas; it was his sanctuary.
Adrián was more than an artist; he was a loving father to seven children, a dedicated teacher to countless students, and an unwavering supporter of fellow artists. His legacy extended far beyond his artwork.
I had the honor of collaborating with Adrián on the book "Desert Flow." His art and my poetry came together, bridging languages and cultures, and were published in both English and Spanish by Cloud Hands Press. Our creative partnership was unique, spanning over five and a half years, conducted solely through emails. We never met in person or exchanged spoken words, yet our connection transcended boundaries and grew into something profoundly beautiful.
The Chamber of Deputies of Mexico recognized the significance of Adrián's and my work, inviting us to present "Desert Flow" on April 20, 2023, an event that filled us with immense pride.
Today, we bid farewell to a dear friend and an endless source of inspiration. On September 11, 2023, Adrián Caldera left this world, but his art, his spirit, and the beautiful memories we shared will forever reside in our hearts.
Adrián Caldera, my beloved friend and inspiration, passed away on September 11, 2023.
