Help Bring Bud Home

Help Bring Bud Home Bud - yellow Labrador - Neutered -
Micro-chipped - Missing from his dog sitters yard - on 107th between Normal & Parnell Chicago IL -
Dec. 26-28th of 2022.

Bud went missing from his regular dog walker that had been watching him overnight. He was Bud’s regular dog walker for several years. And when I could not get Bud an reservation with his regular boarding facility, he'd watch him. But I mostly used his dog walking services. I was told Bud went missing from his yard which is on 107th St between Normal & Parnell - Chicago IL - along with two other do

gs of his - A black male pitbull with white markings on chest & paws that went by the name of King. And a female bully breed light tan with white markings on neck, chest & paws by the name of Penny - I believe. During this time while Bud's been missing and with the help of some wonderful lost dog recovery volunteers - we’ve hung 100’s of flyers, talked to multiple people, followed up with police, gone to shelters & viewed multiple dogs in the possibility they might have been Bud. But still no Bud 😒

Bud is a purebred male Labrador retriever. He is micro-chipped & it is up to date. He was wearing a metal training collar - no tags. He is neutered. Had knee surgery on both rear legs. And also has an very identifiable feature. I’ve had him since he was a puppy. He has a loving home & he is deeply missed πŸ’”

Please help me find him. Help Bring Bud Home

Found 5 months later in the same neighborhood he went missing from - PLEASE if you find a loose dog try and help they find their way back to their family's that missing them so much - Buddy's family never gave up. Just like we're not giving up

Home at Last! BUDDY who has been missing for 5 months from , IL, is finally home safe and sound! We are very relieved he has been reunited and hope to get the story on how he made it home tomorrow. We will keep you posted! Missing 02-05-2025
Reunited 07-05-2025. Welcome home Buddy!

Buddy's story from Jen: "There was a call about a dog at a house. It was unknown at the time if the dog had been secured, was loose near the house, in the yard, etc.

When I got to the house, there was a dog inside the front door that peeked around the corner. I recognized the spots under the eyes and one by the tail and knew that it was Buddy - as I had pictures from making his lost flyer.

Cook County Animal Control was able to retrieve him from the house. Buddy's family was notified, and they came to pick him up right away at the Harvey Police Department.

Buddy will see a vet to get microchipped and checked out. He has a wound on his paw that needs attention. He now has a new martingale collar and harness for walks, and a new ID tag in the mail (thank you Lost Dogs Illinois) πŸ™‚ Buddy is already smiling and settling back in at home πŸ’™
Buddy was found just under 1.5 miles from home in the sane town he was lost in. He was found with a collar on that he was NOT wearing when he went missing.

His family hung flyers when he was initially missing, but no sightings matched up to be him."

4th of July Pet Safety Reminder 🐾

Almost every shelter and rescue is near or at capacity. And with the best of intentions, every year around this time, we brace for a heartbreaking surge: more pets go missing during the Fourth of July than any other time of year.

Between July 4–6, animal shelters across the country often see a 30–60% increase in lost pet intakes. Fireworks, parties, and backyard gatherings may be fun for us... but for our pets, the loud booms and bright flashes can be terrifying and disorienting. πŸ’”

Help keep your furry loved ones safe:
πŸ”’ Double-check collars & ID tags - make sure they’re snug and current.
πŸ“² Update your pet’s microchip info - don’t wait until it’s too late.
πŸšͺ Keep pets indoors during fireworks - even if they’re usually OK outside.
πŸŽ‰ Watch the door! Pets can slip out during cookouts, parties, and firework shows.
πŸ’€ Create a safe space with their bed, favorite toys, and soothing sounds.

Let’s prevent more pets from entering an already overwhelmed shelter system. Keep them safe. Keep them HOME. 🐢🐱❀️
