Earning the starting setter spot as a freshman three years ago, Mother McAuley senior Peyton Heatherly has been a staple in the starting lineup ever since.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our mother and Beverly Review publisher, Susan "Toby" Olszewski.

On the evening of Oct. 4, dozens of community members gathered not in response to a particular cause or conflict, but in a shared call for peace.

“A Walk for Peace,” sponsored by the Justice Committee of the Mercy Associates, brought together Sisters of Mercy, Mercy associates, faculty and staff from St. Xavier University, as well as students from Br. Rice and Mother McAuley high schools.

St. John Fisher grads John Fennell and Vinny Stubitsch have been friends, classmates and football teammates going back to second grade. Now, they're starring together as quarterback and running back for St. Rita as the Mustangs look to close the regular season strong. Check out the BevRev story and photos!

For 10 days, 80 parishioners of St. Christina Roman Catholic Church traded the streets of Mt. Greenwood for the ancient roads of Italy—and returned home closer than ever.

The group traveled through Italy from Sept. 16-25 and visited Orvieto, Assisi, Florence, Bolsena and Rome as part of the local church’s centennial anniversary celebration.

Along the way, they stood at the burial site of their parish’s namesake, toured the Sistine Chapel, watched the Chicago Bears game in an Irish pub in Florence and found themselves just a few feet away from Pope Leo XIV.

September marked Hunger Action Month, and in Blue Island, the Hope Center is working to address food insecurity by teaching residents how to grow their own food and live more sustainably. The nonprofit is also approaching its goal of donating 2,000 pounds of food this year.
