For Fran Blake, a recent trip to Ireland was about much more than seeing the Cliffs of Moher or traveling through the Irish countryside—it was about getting his family together while they could.

From July 25 to Aug. 3, 32 members of the Blake Family—including Fran, 76, his wife, Peggy, 75, their six children, three sons- and daughters-in-law and 21 of their 22 grandchildren—traveled across Ireland, visiting several towns and taking in all the country had to offer.

Joi Edwards-Haynes and her husband, Arthur Haynes, may be new to Chicago, but they’ve quickly made their mark on a home in Beverly.

The couple won top honors in the Bungalow Window Box category of the 10th annual Bungalow Garden Contest conducted by the Chicago Bungalow Association.

“When I first got the message saying we were one of the 10 finalists, I was pretty excited, thinking, ‘OK, for the first year, not too shabby,’” said Edwards-Haynes. “But then to go on and win, it was just totally, totally exciting.”

After a year of college hoops, Beverly's Ryan Runaas finds home as a manager for the Illinois State men's basketball team. The goal? Setting himself up for the future, and hopefully, a trip to the NCAA Tournament. Check out the Beverly Review story!

After a standout high school career, Ryan Runaas found himself in a new spot for his freshman year at Joliet Junior College (JJC).

With a property purchased and state licensing applications submitted, Guildhaus is preparing to open its doors to women in recovery this fall.

The women’s facility will be led by Clinical Director Kati Red, with Marelyn Garcia as program manager and Erin Doyle as a counselor.

“We all feel very strongly about empowering women,” Doyle said. “What Guildhaus does already, to be able to do that with women is such a gift.”

With a property purchased and state licensing applications submitted, Guildhaus is preparing to open its doors to women in recovery this fall.
