Just received this from CSX:

Notice of Construction Activity:
CSX to Temporarily Close 103rd Street Crossing in Chicago
Railroad Signal Damage Requires Full Crossing Closure

CSX is conducting emergency repairs at the at-grade rail crossing at 103rd Street in Chicago following a recent vehicle incident that damaged the crossing signal system.

To allow crews to safely complete the necessary repairs, the crossing is fully closed to roadway traffic. Detour routes have been established and are clearly marked for motorists.

The 103rd Street crossing is part of a designated quiet zone. With the signal system out of service, trains operating through the area are required to sound the horn until repairs are complete, in accordance with federal safety requirements.

CSX crews are working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible, and repairs are expected to be completed by 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, barring any unforeseen issues.

CSX appreciates the public’s patience as this work is completed to restore the crossing’s safety systems.

Members of the community can contact the CSX Public Safety Coordination Center at (800) 232-0144 to report any concerns during construction.
