Some more footage inside the cab of Western Maryland Scenic Railroad 1309, a massive 2-6-6-2 mallet steam engine operating out of Cumberland, Maryland.
And busy at the controls, we see the engineer operating the engine, using the throttle, whistle (fan favorite) and even the water injector. Also spot the assistant fireman checking the status on the fire, a coordinated effort of manpower to get this train up the mountainous grade of Western Maryland, up to Frostburg, Maryland.
