Estamos trabajando con dedicación para unir esfuerzos, con la intención de avanzar y mantener nuestro papel como plataforma del movimiento. This year, the editorial board of El Tribuno de Pueblo gathered for their annual retreat to reflect on our purpose and how we can better tell the truth and highlight our communities' struggles for our readers. We are diligently working to unite our efforts, aiming to move forward and maintain our role as a platform for the movement. For the past six years, the Tribuno’s editorial board has gathered in person to brainstorm how to make the publication better for our audience. These retreats allow us to connect with each other with a backdrop of beautiful California redwoods. Connecting with nature grounds us and reminds us of our mission to protect Mother Earth and the most vulnerable in our communities. Dear Followers, Friends, and Community,

We ask you to pledge $20 monthly to Tribuno del Pueblo and People’s Tribune. Every day, scenes of masked ICE agents, armed and chasing, tear at us. Their crime—being 'suspected' of being undocumented.

Unleashed by Trump, these troops ignore laws. Congress allocated $170 billion for ICE raids, detention centers like 'Alligator Alcatraz,' and deportations.

But resistance grows. Sadness turns to anger, then action, to protect neighbors. Tribuno del Pueblo and People’s Tribune stand with this fight for human rights.

El 14 de julio de 2025, el líder agrícola y organizador sindical Alfredo «Lelo» Juárez Zeferino solicitó su salida voluntaria del centro de detención del ICE en Estados Unidos. En el momento de redactar esta declaración, ya se encuentra reunido con su familia y amigos en su ciudad natal en México. Nos alegramos por él, ya que podrá pasar su cumpleaños, el 6 de agosto, con sus padres y hermanos.

On July 14th, 2025 Farmworker leader and union organizer Alfredo ‘Lelo’ Juarez Zeferino requested voluntary departure from ICE detention in the United States. As of this statement, he is now reunited with family and friends in his hometown in Mexico. We are happy for him because he will be able to spend his birthday on August 6th with his parents and siblings.
That this departure was necessary for his dignity and safety represents a tremendous miscarriage of justice, and a profound loss for all of us.

Jaime Alanis Garcia died of a broken neck in the Ventura County Medical Center on Saturday.  He fell 30 feet from the roof of a Glass House Farms greenhouse, where he’d climbed in a desperate effort to get away from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and National Guard soldiers during an immigration raid on Thursday.
In announcing his death, Alanis’ family called him, “not just a farm worker [but] a human being who deserved dignity. His death is not an isolated tragedy.”
