Gender and sexuality are weird topics. Controversial to some but honestly strange to someone like me. I grew up different from the other kids around me. I wasn’t classified as usual among my peers. I grew up with other kids questioning if I was gay before I could even learn the term for it. I was put in a situation where my gender seemed to be a problem for me. I didn’t grow up with a healthy self-image.

El género y la sexualidad son temas extraños. Controvertidos para algunos, pero sinceramente extraños para alguien como yo. Crecí siendo diferente a los demás niños que me rodeaban. Mis compañeros no me consideraban normal. Crecí con otros niños que se preguntaban si yo era gay antes incluso de que pudiera aprender el término para ello. Me pusieron en una situación en la que mi género parecía ser un problema para mí. No crecí con una autoimagen saludable.

“Costa Rica’s Health and Education Success: A Lesson for the World’s Richest Countries”

Costa Rica is often known for its stunning beaches, diverse wildlife, and delicious cuisine, but the country has much more to offer than its beauty. While traveling through the city of San Jose, I noticed a sign on one of the hospitals that stated appreciation for the staff for all their hard work in caring for people during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the seminars I attended, which compared the United States and Costa Rica, there was a strong belief that “health is a right, not a privilege.”

Costa Rica es conocido a menudo por sus impresionantes playas, su diversa vida salvaje y su deliciosa gastronomía, pero el país tiene mucho más que ofrecer que su belleza. Mientras viajaba por la ciudad de San José, noté un letrero en uno de los hospitales que decía agradecimiento al personal por todo su arduo trabajo en el cuidado de las personas durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Police in New York made multiple arrests Monday after activists blocked access to the offices of Palantir as part of an anti-ICE protest.

The shadowy firm, co-founded by right-wing billionaire Peter Thiel, is a major defense contractor that offers surveillance, data-mining and drone software.

Palantir has contracts with the Trump administration to make it easier for federal agents to track down immigrants, with the government reportedly asking the company to compile data on all U.S. residents as part of the effort. The company also provides AI tools to Israel as it attacks Palestinians in Gaza.
