Diamonds and Rust

Diamonds and Rust Chicago • Dr. Rock (ancient wizard) and DJ Flower Power (age 12) host the galaxy's heaviest radio show, Wednesdays at 9 pm on WLHA 640 AM.
(3)

Modeling their show on 1970s FM rock radio, Dr. Rock (ancient wizard) and DJ Flower Power (age 12) spin hard rock and heavy metal from 1970 through today, all on vinyl and CD. Every show has a theme, with special emphasis on forgotten or underappreciated bands and new groups that deserve wider attention. When songs have drum intros, DJ Flower Power grabs the mic and performs original raps. Dr. Roc

k was at KSDT 95.7 FM San Diego from 1990 to 1996, where he hosted "Rock 'n' Roll Radio" and "The Blue Note Show," worked as Station Secretary, and served as Jazz Director. DJ Flower Power began her radio broadcasting career in kindergarten and is now in sixth grade. She also dances, plays softball, and practices kung fu. After eight years on WIIT 88.9 FM Chicago, "Diamonds and Rust" now airs every Wednesday at 9:00 pm CDT on WLHA 640 AM and streams worldwide on Live 365 Radio and Radio Garden.
