"Faded Eyes"
Your eyes, once bright, now hold a distant gleam,
A hollow echo of the warmth that used to beam.
The laughter's gone, replaced by shadows deep,
A soul adrift, in slumber's endless sleep.
My hand reaches out, but grasps at empty air,
The love I offer, met with a vacant stare.
The person that you were, a fading memory's trace. Lost in a maze, a haunting, spectral space.
I grieve for you, alive yet out of reach,
A silent battle, a love beyond speech.
The demon's hold, a cruel and tightening vice,
Stealing the light, that once burned oh so nice.
But hope remains, a flickering, fragile ember,
That you might rise again, and from this darkness, remember.
The love that waits, with arms outstretched and true,
To mend the pieces, broken, but to see you through.
