Game 1
Brooks 55 Morgan Park 49 FINAL

Congrats to the Gwendolyn Brooks Eagles on winning the white division title! MP took an early 16-4 lead in the 1st but Brooks outscored them 15-2 in the 2nd to take a 1 pt. lead into the half.

Bradley Pikes (L) was the spark for Brooks shooting 4-5 from 3 in the 3rd Q finishing with 15 pts & Bryce Hayes (12 pts) had a great floor game & hit big free throws down the stretch to seal the deal. Nasir Rankin finished with a game high 22 pts/8 rebs/5 ast for MP.

Game 2
Whitney Young 72 Kenwood 61 FINAL

Congrats to the Lady Dolphins on a 4th consecutive city championship behind 42 pts/7 rebs from 5⭐️ guard/Illini commit Destiny Jackson. Young head coach Krissy Harper said the growth in leadership from Destiny has been the biggest key to their success this season.

Arielle Hennigan led Kenwood with 27 pts but shot 4-17 from the field.

(A horribly officiated game on both sides as 7 players fouled out & Jackson/Hennigan shot a combined 45 fts)

Game 3
Kenwood 67 Curie 65 FINAL

The Broncos bring their first city title back to Hyde Park! Curie had their chances throughout the game as their biggest lead was 9 pts but basketball is a game of runs & the talented Kenwood squad made the plays when they counted. Terrance Seals (22 pts/8 rebs/6 ast) Devin Cleveland (16 pts) & Aleks Alston (15 pts/6 rebs) shouldered the load offensively for the Broncos.

Justin Oliver led Curie with 22 pts/8 ast.

Game of the night!
Whitney Young 52 Dyett 39 FINAL

Dyett came out hot and took an 8 pt lead after 1 but the Dolphins settled in, cut it to 1 at the half then senior Antonio Munoz outscored the Eagles 11-3 in the 3rd and the Dolphins didn't look back. They advance to the CPL Final 4 Thursday at UIC where they'll face the #1 seed Kenwood Broncos. Munoz (L) was assertive on both ends leading Young with 22 pts/9 rebs/3 blks while junior guard Marquis Clark (R) played a solid floor game & was 10-10 from the charity stripe (R) finishing with 17 pts/8 rebs.

CPL ELITE 8 AT CORLISS

GAME 1-
Curie 74 Simeon 68 FINAL

It's EXTREMELY tough to beat a team 3 times in a season & the Condors proved that statement true as (L-R @03.lilmike) Michael Oliver Jr (23 pts) .justoo_ Justin Oliver (16 pts) & .brad Brad Johnson Jr. (17 pts/7 rebs) led the way for Curie. Lorenzo Shields led Simeon with 21 pts. Give Curie head Mike Oliver credit...he ALWAYS gets the most out of his guys!

The 5 technical fouls given to Simeon didn't help and two of the referees had no control of the game.

GAME 2-
Hyde Park 65 Lincoln Park 64 FINAL 3 OT

The fans definitely got their $$ worth in game 2 as the #11 seed Thunderbirds did the unthinkable knocking of the now 22-5 #1 seed Lions on a buzzer be**er by senior guard #1 Rayshawn Blackman...his only FG of the game! Junior guard #5 .vision Kye Ward-Owens put HP on his back & his stock definitely rose. He hit 5 3's & knocked down 10 free throws leading the Thunderbirds with 31 pts. Jaylen Dickerson was the high man for LP with 20 pts.

Hyde Park will face Curie in the Final 4 at UIC Thursday Feb. 13th. Curie won 58-54 in their previous matchup on 1/28.

It was good to see DeMar DeRozan back in the U.C. as his 12 4th Q points helped the Kings to a 124-119 win over his former team. Zach Lavine scored 30 for the 6th straight game & Lonzo Ball made his first start in close to 3 years playing 25 mins shooting 5-8 from 3 for 15 pts. Eugene McIntosh & Drew Stevens wrap things up from the westside!

A new chapter of the begins Saturday! This week will be showcasing the best rivalry in the CPL. Yesterday we went behind the scenes with Coach CJ and his Morgan Park Mustangs as they prep for the big game! Today we slid a few miles north on Vincennes to lock in with Coach Que and his Simeon Wolverines as they get ready for their biggest test since a week 1 loss to the Rochester Rockets.
