"Confidence is silent, but insecurities are loud."

FISH EYE explores the struggle of self-expression through the eyes of a homeless artist whose soul wanders the streets of a vibrant, diverse city.

This 15-minute, stylized film begins with the perspective of a man whose life is tragically cut short just after completing a painting. Following his death, his spirit drifts across the city, witnessing surreal and seemingly intimate moments in the lives of 22 individuals, paired into 12 groups.

The film offers a fragmented yet profound glimpse into the emotions and philosophies of these city dwellers—from the rich to the poor, the young to the old, businessmen to criminals. While they quote famous lines and loosely respond to one another, they never fully connect or grasp each other’s inner struggles. The only true dialogue comes from the homeless artist and a little girl, who stumbles upon his painting while walking with her father. Inspired, she touches the painting, bringing it to life in a moment of beauty that wipes the world clean.

FISH EYE was shot in a single continuous take, spanning 8 city blocks, and features 22 incredibly talented, improvisational actors from the Chicagoland area, each bringing depth and authenticity to their roles.

Thank you for watching and supporting independent film! Since creating FISH EYE, Space Cave Productions has been developing our feature film Art of Alchemy in collaboration with the Chicago Industry Exchange (CIX) Lab, a part of the Chicago International Film Festival.

Be sure to comment, like, and subscribe, as we’ll be premiering the trailer for our short proof of concept for Art of Alchemy on February 2nd, 2025! We’re thrilled to share that the short will also be screening at several film festivals throughout the year.

Please share FISH EYE with your friends, and remember: ALL CAPS when you spell the movie's name.

Feeling incredibly humbled by the projects I've been a part of and the talented individuals I've collaborated with. Grateful for every chance to work on a professional set and delve deeper into the craft of filmmaking.

It's more than just the artistry—every department strives to create those 'Holy Moments' in film or TV, where the synergy of talented work becomes greater than the sum of its parts.

To me, this job serves as a reminder that each day is filled with beautiful, nuanced changes. Filmmaking is a poetic expression of what truly matters. Reality is God; every moment in life is holy. "If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, Infinite."
