NEW EPISODE!! In 1934 a man named Will Hays, then the president of the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America, began strenuously enforcing the “Production Code,” a guideline to determine what films could depict on screen, such as drug use, promiscuity, and yes, homosexuality. The films we chose, She Done Him Wrong and Baby Face were each released in 1933, and a case could be made that they led to stricter enforcement of the so called Baby Face stars Barbara Stanwyck as a woman who escapes her evil father and makes her way in the city, quite literally sleeping her way to the top of high society. She Done Him Wrong is based on Mae West’s own play where she stars as a nightclub owner who must contend with a jealous ex who escapes from prison, and a young Cary Grant, a police captain. Hilarious and h***y, these two films featured strong women not bound by societal conventions of the time and are defining films of the era. If you’ve not seen them, we can’t recommend them enough.

NEW EPISODE! Can you believe we’re 150? That’s right, this episode marks our 150th episode! To celebrate, enlisted his friend to discuss a beloved 80’s classic, and to reminisce about the podcast and talk a bit about it’s inception. To all of our followers and listeners, thank you for helping us get to 150. We do it for ourselves first and foremost, but we’d have stopped long ago if no one was listening. Thank you! ***rpodcast

NEW EPISODE! returns to the show to continue gushing about Diane Keaton as a mother to q***r people. In The First Wives Club it’s a token le***an, while she’s best friends with fellow q***r icons Goldie Hawn and Bette Midler. We pair it with the modern classic and spend more time quoting it than discussing it.

Coming soon! My friends at are working on a new project, and asked if I’d be willing to talk about my 2nd favorite thing - baseball. After years of talking movies I’m excited for a chance to discuss my other passion, and one of the best players to ever do it - Roberto Clemente. Though he’s from before my time, his legend lives on in Puerto Rico, where he was from, and Pittsburgh, where he won 2 World Series rings. I’ll share the episode when it goes live (sometime this spring) but make sure you follow and subscribe so you don’t miss out. ***rbaseballfans

2025 was a terrific year for television! My favorites of the year - Pluribus, Vince Gilligan’s newest, The Studio starring Seth Rogen, Kathryn Hahn and a perfectly cast Catherine O’Hara, the second seasons of The Last of Us and Severance, the tense hospital drama The Pitt, and Ethan Hawke in FX’s Oklahoma-noir The Lowdown.
