We’re back and well-rested after the 2026 Drum Corps International Competition, where Noisefloor’s team handled the competition’s broadcast surround sound mixing for 6 days! 🥁🎶🎺
From managing mega audio boards to placing microphones strategically for the highest quality recordings, our team captured and mixed the broadcast audio coverage so viewers could hear the corps in all of their glory.
Every year is special to us, since DCI was Noisefloor’s first client in 2005, and owner/producer Cory Coken, MPSE, has been working it since 1999! Joined by Luc Hedstrom and Jake Hensley, who completed their third and second year, respectively, in Indianapolis. The trio traded off mixing responsibilities between Cory and Luc, with Jake managing archival recording and callouts, with Luc sometimes stepping into either position.
In total, our team worked 182 hours over the course of 6 days to round out an amazing week of competition between the corps, and it’s always a blast to hear the amazing talent on the field! A big thank you to John Flower Productions and DCI for having us! 💙
